Running Rallycross

We have run several Rallycross events with the Rallycross Miata. The first event ended with blown shocks. But the next two events the car ran great and performed as expected. The HD Bilstein shocks are doing the job.

We ran Rallycross with the Atlanta Region at Durham Town on 02/09/2014. It was a small group but we had a great time.

We put some videos at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCDtO_akOzA7pkWBx6l9UJ2w. My internet service takes hours to upload a three minute video. So, Matt agreed to upload the most recent videos. He has not had time to upload the videos newest videos, but more will be posted as he gets the time.

We also ran at the Middle Georgia Region Rallycross on 03/15/2014. Matt finally beat me at Rallycross that day. He was able to complete the course without killing as many cones this time. I got one myself. The event times can be found at http://mgascca.com/?page_id=409.

Like the Atlanta Region event we had a small turnout, but we had a great time. The course was just over a minute run. The runs kept getting faster mostly due to the cars pushing the loose dust off the turns. That sure made for a lot of DUST!

My son-in-law Jesse also came out and ran the car for the first time. He had to adjust to driving the Miata and driving on the dirt. He normally drives Autocross in a Porsche. We may convert him to Miatas yet (at least for Rallycross)!

I still find Rallycross more fun than Autocross. The only issue I will have to overcome is the dust. We had a lot of dust at the last event. A small disposable mask helps but the car was dusted inside and out. I spent a lot of time cleaning up me and the car after the event. It is strange all the places dust can gather!
